Client Comfort System (CCS)

5.1 - BCBC PRE-APPROVED SYSTEM TYPES - (Graphic/Logic/Points List - One Page Format)

Sections 2,3 and 4 of this manual refer to Section 15930 Systems. The following pages and information in Section 5 and the Example in Section 10 should assist in assembly of Section 15930.

Intent

To assist in standardization and improve the communication of BCBC Client Comfort Systems (CCS) intent to designers, a One Page concept has been developed for preferred BCBC system types. The One Page includes the CCS graphic layout, generic start up logic, and points lists (real and virtual). The format is 11" X 17". When used in standard 8.5" X 11" documentation the information shall be laid out on opposing pages to emulate the 11" X 17" format.

Instructions

1. The designer will choose the system type that matches the building. If no match exists the designer will contact the BCBC representative to discuss the unique requirements. If deemed necessary a unique system type will be generated by BCBC in consultation with the designer.
2. This One Page format will become part of the specification and tendering package. A copy for each system will be put into the specification with a unique HVAC system description. This description will become part of the BCBC naming convention which is imbedded in the points list. Please use the naming convention when labeling equipment elsewhere on the plans and in the specifications.
3. Extra points for the system or points generally required to complete the project will be listed on the miscellaneous point sheet. A sample is included in Section 5 of the design manual.
4. All computerized color graphics generated by the successful CCS contractor will follow the BCBC Client Comfort System Graphics Guidelines. See Section 7 of the design manual.
5. Generic start up logic must be made syntactically correct by the successful contractor.
6. Refer to this manual's Table of Contents to locate various categories of systems.
7. When trendlog (TL) virtual points are part of a system the points to be trended are listed in the notes. Points are separated by commas. Eg HCV,SAT_SP,SAT,HCP.
8. When controller (CO) virtual points are part of a system the measured variable is listed first in the notes and then the setpoint. The two are separated with a colon. Eg SAT:SAT_SP.
9. A Project Summary as per 5_A1 Example and 5_A2 blank sheet will be prepared for each project. Review example in Section 10 of this manual for further clarification.
